DESCRIPTION

Imaginary Forces seeks a Creative Director for its West Coast studio.

 

We are looking for a pro-active, future-thinking creative leader; a visual storyteller who will spearhead key projects and client relationships, lead creative teams and curate new talent, and push Imaginary Forces’ creative capabilities further into the future.

 

Our Creative Director will primarily be responsible for fielding new opportunities with new and existing clients, and overseeing the development and production of key projects with staff and freelance creatives. We are also looking for someone to identify new opportunities within the industry, and also expand our reach with new relationships and work streams. Additionally, this person should act as a mentor to developing talent in the studio, and creative reference for other ongoing projects and creative development.

 

The ideal candidate should have experience in building and leading creative teams, and cultivating and nurturing key client relationships. Candidates’ core skillset should include Creative Direction, motion design, animation and typography, brand and identity development, and strategic thinking. Candidates should have thorough experience in client communication, in both developing creative opportunities and through the production of projects.

 

Candidates should have experience managing a range of pre-production, production, editorial / post-production, and animation pipelines, 2D, 3D, VFX, etc. Experience in live-action directing a plus. Experience in creative and strategic writing, campaign development, live-action production, experience design, creative technology and interface design, and emerging technology also welcome.

 

KEY DUTIES

  • Lead West Coast Studio Creative Department
  • Create and encourage a culture of collaboration, creativity, communication, and enthusiasm
  • Develop, manage and nurture creative talent in the West coast studio
  • Work closely with West Coast EP to develop and deepen existing client and partner relationships
  • Work with IF leadership to develop new business strategies
  • Communicate regularly with key clients, both during projects and in pursuit of new collaborative opportunities
  • Provide quality control for all West Coast studio concepts and projects
  • Help to develop new capabilities and lines of business
  • Work closely with IF marketing to promote Imaginary Forces within the industry and beyond
  • Participate in public opportunities, such as conferences, new talent events, and other opportunities

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Creative, Enthusiastic, Forward-Thinking
  • At least 5 years experience as a Creative Director or Creative in a leadership position for a creative studio, agency, or similar
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and think ahead, as well as be highly collaborative and communicative
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and supervise multiple ongoing projects and timelines
  • Excellent communication, and organization skills
  • Access to a variety of freelance artists to hire for various project needs
