Upside Down Pictures

Brand Identity for The Duffer Brothers
With each day comes a new horizon, and for the Duffer brothers a new step into the alternate world of production. We partnered with the dynamic duo, often credited for Netflix’s Stranger Things, to bring the 80s nostalgia from the series into a logo that not only captures the time but sets the tone for their debut as a production company.

what we did

Inspired by old horror films and classic fantasy/Stephen King novels, we nodded to the analog style and aesthetic of Stranger Things, creating a logo animation that feels fresh but familiar. Capturing 80s film by literally rattling the camera, we paid homage to the show with subtle but fan-recognizable references and experimented with flipping words and letters to give the logo a life of its own. From creating a sense of weight to the logo to bathing the treatment in red hues, we landed on what felt sinister and strange while being sophisticated and striking. An imaginative reversed world begins to feel more realistic as we embark on a new horizon of The Duffer Brothers.
