Boardwalk Empire

Boardwalk Empire Main Title (2011)
We filmed at a beach in New Jersey near the Boardwalk sets, where we experienced the detail and care that went into every aspect of production, down to the whiskey bottles. We even got to design a custom label for Grand Canadian Old Rye Whiskey, a copy of which still hangs in our studio. Steve Buscemi was a pleasure to work with, even in a three piece wool suit on the hottest day of summer!

Rubicon

Rubicon Main Title (2011)
Infrastructure, intelligence, pattern recognition, mystery, urgency–these were the words that led the winning pitch for Rubicon. We started with the idea of being in the character’s head, entering the story through the physicality of information: moving diagrams, microfiche, redaction, and finally… the iconic yellow line.

The Pacific

The Pacific Main Title (2011)
Early on, Executive Producer Tom Hanks shared a story. One of his family members served in WWII as a wartime correspondent in the Pacific Theater. With a charcoal through-line set to the poetic score by Hans Zimmer, an intimate and award winning opening was born.

Black Sails

Black Sails Main Title (2014)
A sculptural aesthetic traditionally reserved for saints and kings was used to depict a maverick society that is ultimately doomed. We were particularly inspired by the sculptural art of Kris Kuski, the photography of Pablo Genoves, and the intricate etchings of the time, like those from Ernst Haeckel’s ‘Art Forms of Nature Changing.’

Bosch

Bosch Main Title (2015)
We had the opportunity to film the streets of Los Angeles at night in a helicopter, a sight to behold. Combining that with our drone footage gave us everything we needed to create an editorial puzzle that provided visually stunning transitions and shots.

Marvel's Jessica Jones Main Title (2016)

Vinyl

Vinyl Main Title (2016)
How do you make an opening about the 1970s feel fresh when you are pitching to the likes of Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese? We focused on the essence of sound vibrations, macro-shots of record players and the feeling you get when listening to really good music.

EXPLORE THE PROJECT

Candy

Candy Main Title (2022)
Inspired by Rube Goldberg’s machines, we built the housewife trope narrative around the type. Words that once stuck to the page, fall before the next scene to convey how the daily upkeep of being the perfect housewife led to Candy’s world collapsing.

Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop Main Title (2022)
Jam-packed with stylized footage and classic Bebop motifs, the opener pays homage to the original while giving a twist on the retro-graphic film-noir language that is the hallmark of the show.
