SPTL: MICHELE WEINTRAUB
APR 28, 2008
Michele is a coordinator working out of Imaginary Forces’ New York office.
On where she went to school: I went to Syracuse University and majored in Television, Radio and Film. I received a great education, made a ton of wonderful friends, and got to sit in the stands when the basketball team won the National Championship during my freshman year. (GO ORANGE!)
On how she got into the business: My uncle bought a camcorder as a gift for my family when I was in elementary school. Once I got my hands on it, I never put it down. I used to make my friends put on costumes and act in my movies. By the time I was 10 years old, I knew I needed to work in TV/film.
On how she got involved at IF: I worked as a production assistant for a documentary that was directed by Ab Winsemius, former Brand Strategist at IFNY. I learned more about the company through him, and was fascinated by the amazing work that came out of IF. There happened to be an opening for a production coordinator as the documentary wrapped up... I've been here ever since!
On what she likes about production: I love being challenged. I love problem
solving and thinking on my feet. I also really love working as a team to accomplish a common goal.
On what she’s working on right now: I guess perfecting my Wii Tennis game in the conference room doesn't really count as "work"...
On what she does in her spare time: I go to the gym a lot because I think it's the best stress release. I LOVE traveling - anytime, anywhere. And during the summer, I spend all my free time at the beach!
On her favorite IF project: One of the first jobs I worked on from start to finish at IF was Alavert "Stick It." It was a combination of live action and CG, and it was the first time I saw something like that come to life. I was intrigued by the process and amazed by the end result. It is still one of my (many!) favorites.
