project info
A glisten of light off a sand dune becomes an outline of a sleek phone. Ripples on a sandy beach echo the lines of a number pad. A volcanic crater recalls the shape of a camera lens. This is the look and feel seen in a series of spots for Nokia's new Sirocco 8800, for which IF created natural, sensual environments that mimic the phone's sexy design. The work has a lush, cinematic quality and a mood of languid tranquility enhanced by the Brian Eno soundtrack. A seamless combination of live action, design and CGI, "Rhythm" represents a visual and conceptual break from traditional mobile phone advertising, treating the phone like a fashion accessory rather than a communications device. The IF creative team used Cinema 4D, Maya, and After Effects to build and composite each shot, which were all conformed in Flame.
